Writing Prompt Day3- Veil

ok here goes a writing prompt.
I read somewhere that a writing prompt even if it comes in pieces at a time it gradually develops so here is the start and later I may or may not add to it

Veil makes me think of different things.
A veil over a brides face at a wedding.
A veil of different caste ranking of belief.
A veil of the heart to what is not clearly seen but is actually there.
Moses wore a veil going into the Holy of Holies I think

Scriptures in which I found , which I did not write them , I figured you can look them up plus I am sure there is tons more in a concordance, which these references was just in the back of my Bible.
   2 Corinthians 3:7-4:18
   Matthew 27:51
   Mark 15:38
   Luke 23:45

Songs I think of on this subject which is not found online but has been sung here at Rose Creek Village by some of our wonderful ladies. The song is called " Beyond the Veil" .

Memories
A skit for our corporate schooling years ago on Baggett Rd.
We played that song, talked about A cloud of Witnesses, talked about Mary Magdala her harlotry was forgiven,

During this skit it was so real to me so much so I was the harlot of forgiveness, which was the beginning of my journey of forgiveness.
There are those who has went before us,, thou we can not see them they are always there.  The veil of my heart to forgiveness was just being lifted

This is it for now, more may come on the subject, I hope to get the words to the song on here thou.

Drawing Challenge Day 8- Creepy Insect

Ok what can I say. I don't even know if there is really a such thing as this insect . I was at work one night , all my duties were done so I just sat down to paint and this is what came out. Creepy to me .

Creative Repair

Yes this is out of the box but it works. In our kitchen cabinet the drawer bottom just kept sliding out of place so I came up with the idea of reinforcing with  buttons .

I added some foam pieces to the                                  bottom as well but this is the inside of the drawer.
A closer look at the inside back of the drawer.
This is the outside bottom of the drawer.

Day 6: Under The Sea

Day 7: Colorful Bird

Photo Challenge Day 2: Wake Up

First thing Thank you God for a restful night, I hope others did too.
A cup of coffee to start the day. After waking up at:

That is a.m. mind you, my days and nights are all crazy since I started my night shift at work.

First thing that came to me when I woke up was "Oh no I forgot to call my sister yesterday, I guess that is a focused desire to do cause I did want to talk to her yesterday,,things happened I forgot, ugh.

Second thing that popped in my head was a poem that I used to teach my kindergarten classes for about eight years.

Time To Rise
by Robert Louise Stevenson
A birdie with a yellow bill
Hopped upon my window sill, Cocked his shining eye and said:
" Ain't you 'shamed , you sleepy head"

Not much for wake up, too dark to take a photo since it is so early.
But not so early to be praying for my friends that are in the hospital or just got out of the hospital and getting ready for major surgeries and will be in the hospital. Love them , May God be with each of them.

Writing Prompt Day 2 ; Reasons To Be Thankful

I have several reasons to be thankful:

I have four children God Blessed me with, they are grown and have families of their own.
So, that means the Blessing expanded, I gained two more sons and now I have six grandchildren plus one who I do not get to see that my heart has adopted .
I have many friends that won't let me venture too far off course of becoming all that God has for me, accountability is good.
I have a job with people who I do not know yet , gives me great opportunity to get to know them.
I have been forgiven much and therefore free from past sins.
  Everyday is a new day.
I am thankful that God's love for me is not based on my lack , knowledge or ability.
I am thankful that everyday I can know He is present with me.
I am thankful that I get to learn to live a life that in the end it will not be filled with regrets but with things that meant something. Substance and not a fling.
I am thankful I get to see, it reminds me always to pray for those not so fortunate, may they have the Grace to overcome any bitterness in their journey.
I am thankful I have both legs,, also reminds me to pray for those who do not,, we could learn some things from some of them who has accomplished acceptance with their circumstance.
I am thankful for my being .
I am thankful I can drive, makes me be aware of those who may need a ride.
I am thankful for the not so good times,, makes me need God and keeps me aware of my needing Him.
                                  This is all for now.

Photo Challenge - Day 1: Sky and Outside

I saw this and thought it would be fun to do. No, I am not a pro at taking photos it is only for memories, expressions of things and or people I love .
I do not know how to do a better layout of photos on here so you just have to bare with me please. Well maybe it may work better than I thought , yay.

I did not go any further than my back porch, as the picture looks as thou it is overcast and wet outside, if you can see it , in the mist of those trees we have a bunch of turkeys back there, thou you can not see the turkeys themselves only the place.
This one has a chicken coop down there. Along with the yellowish trees.
Ok here I was trying to show that it had rained and the leaves are sitting in water on the table on my back porch.
As you can see they floated in a little different position from the first picture.
And this one is just how the three looked in this formation.

It was cold outside, and like I said I did not go any more than my porch. So this is it for now lol, I hope to get some better pictures as I go on this challenge to myself of taking photos.

I do not know about you but sometimes when it is all grey outside it tends to be depressing,,,kinda like dealing with unkind people, the unhappiness that seems to lerk around every corner alot of the time. Hope it encourages you as it does me.

I thought of this poem but it was written by Amy Carmichael years ago,,,so I can not take credit,, I just thought I would share it.

The Sun Will Come Back
The world is black;
The eastern sky's grey rack
Lies like a waste of sullen sea,
Void of all hope of joy to be.
O Sun, come back;
Come back.

Of voices none
(Save alone only one)
Answers the low wind's faltering lute,
For all earth's singing things are mute.
Come back, O Sun,
O Sun.

No faintest spark
Strikes from the east; but hark,
Like some small, cheery, woodland elf,
A stream is singing to itself
All in the dark,
The dark

For, oh , not dumb,
As he that would succomb
To wistful doubt, the running stream
Makes a sweet music of its theme:
The Sun will come,
Will come.

My Lord, I see
What Thou wouldst have me be;
Through darkened hours, before the Sun
Comes back again, O let me run,
Singing to Thee,
To Thee.
This was taken while I was at work, first started snowing just a bit, it was early in the morning like 6 a.m. And just remember I have a point and shoot camera which is not the best but it takes pictures. Also I am not a skilled photographer . I do it mostly for fun. I am glad to see thou I did get the snow even thou they look like dots, lol.

Little Sailor

I love making things for my grandchildren. A center piece for a birthday party for one of my grand sons turning one. Fun fun fun
His Boat was fun to make.
His door sign, even thou his birthday was on the 11th, we are celebrating it on the 15th, yay.

This is actually about 20 feet long, scrapbook pages cut for the flags 28 to be exact lol,  then tracing and cutting out the boats and anchors. What fun!!!!
I am so proud of his mommy who had this in her heart for him and she pulled it off.
She made these as well ,,fondue creatures and life rings.
Close up crab. So cute.

This was his little cake, turned out so nice.
The stearing wheel his daddy made from foam and paint sticks, it was a great turn out.
Love my grandkids. I hope to see the ones in RI soon.

Writing Prompt Day 1: Light a Candle

  Where to begin ? What do I think when I light a candle ? For real before I even knew I was going to write on this prompt , I lit a candle today, imagine that. Lighting a candle makes me think of many things ;
like there is so many different sizes, shapes, scents and colors
Many different occasions birthdays, anniversaries, festvals, romantic moments or just to have a memorable time with a friend
I like big candles , they last awhile .
Favorite colors tend to be purples and blues . The scents I seem to like the most lavendars , ocean breezes and flower scents.
Gee is that it is that all there is to write about light a candle ?
Lighting a candle brings me to remember a dear friends son who passed we lit candles and watched them float away in the night sky as we remembered him.
Makes me think of the memories of setting the mood of relaxing in the candle lit room with a friend and a class if wine to remember times in our friendship , funny moments of time. Time stood still in those moments and still the nights had to end to begin a new day to remember for next time.
The candles I have lit for my childrens birthdays sometimes trick candles that took several tries to blow out which was a delight , and now they are all grown and have children of their own which now I get to watch them do for my grandchildren , what delights in life.
Winding down after a rough day just to reflect in the day if there is anything better you could have done or apologies is always a nice time I like to light candles in my room and just be still in my thoughts .
And then there is the times when the power goes out ugh then I light candles to see.
Ok I think this is it for day 1

Castle

Two of my granddaughters stayed with me overnight who moved to Memphis now. Anyway, they spent the night with me, we made a castle together since their memory is excellent. They had seen a castle in a book probably a month or more previously, so they wanted to make it.
I like using what I have on hand for two reasons, one to keep creative juices flowing and , I don't have alot of money , smile.
So, we glued, painted and used  stickers on toilet paper rolls, mat board and paper. The girls were delighted. Pictures are challenging now but when available I will post it. Lot's of fun.

A Little Something

Not too long ago, I have started trying my hand at painting. I made this thinking of my loved grandchildren in Providence. It was fun to paint, I love the stickers too. Just a little something.
